EYELASH EXTENSION F.A.Q

Q: So, what exactly are eyelash extensions?

A: Lash extensions are a way to extend the length and thickness of natural eyelashes. You can also think of them as a practical, convenient alternative to the daily use of mascara. Lash extensions are the first technique in lash lengthening that can be worn daily, without nightly removal. Each synthetic lash is bonded to a single natural lash. The final result is effortless, natural beauty.

Q: How long does the process take?

A: A full set of classic lash extensions takes about two to two and a half hours, a full set of hybrid lashes takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes, a full set of volume lashes takes about 3 hours to apply depending on how full your natural lashes are. Fills are about an hour and a half to two hours depending on how much natural lash you have needing fresh extensions.

Q: I know a lot depends on how well I take care of them, but on average, how long should they "last" without needing to come back to get them "touched up"?

A: Fills are suggested about every 2-4 weeks and it all depends on how your natural lashes shed, how you take care of them, and really your preference on how full you want to keep your set.

Q: Is there any downtime post-application?

A: There's no downtime with the lashes which is great! The adhesive is instantly waterproof so you don't have to keep them dry for a certain allotted time like most other lash brands. It's a super easy process and most of my clients have even fallen asleep during it!

Q: Can I apply mascara and use eye makeup remover to gently remove eye makeup?

A: Mascara is not needed or recommended with lash extensions. The lash extensions I use are black and give the appearance of smooth, clump free mascara on every individual lash. I don't recommend the use of mascara on the extensions for a few reasons. It can shorten the longevity of your lashes, can be difficult to remove putting unneeded stress on the extension and natural lash, lastly it clumps extensions together giving the appearance of less lashes and damaging volume fans.

Q: What is the removal process like once I decide I no longer want them?  Is it something I can do myself or do I come back to you for this?

A: Removal is a super easy process but you will have to see me to have it done. It takes about 15-20 minutes just depending on how many lashes are still bonded. You would be sitting up for this appointment but still have your lower lashes secured with a gel pad like I'm your normal lash appointments. I will saturate the remaining lashes with a removal solution and let that sit and break down the glue. After a few minutes, I  then go in one by one and slide the extensions off of the natural lash using a microbrush. It's a pain-free process and you will not lose any natural lash with a proper removal.

Q: Can lash extensions harm my natural lashes?

A: When applied properly, lash extensions will not harm natural lashes. With proper application technique, the natural lashes are able to grow and shed naturally with the extensions. I also am dedicated to only lashing with integrity to keep your natural lashes strong and healthy. Using extensions that are too long, too thick, or too heavy can cause stress and damage so I'm very careful and mindful when choosing lashes for each client.

Q: What's the best way to take care of my lashes?

A: Nightly cleansing is necessary to maximize the longevity of the extensions and to remove any eye makeup, dirt, build up etc.  You will be given a foaming lash cleanser+cleansing brush at your Full Set service and these will need to be used once a day or anytime anything comes in contact with your lashes (sweat, tears, chlorine, salt water, makeup, etc.). Using a lash wand to comb the lashes free of tangles is also recommended after waking up and after anytime you get them wet and will also be included at your appointment. You shouldn’t leave a hair salon without the products needed to keep your hair looking and feeling it's best. Why should it be any different with your lashes?!

Q: Do you do bottom lashes, as well?  Is that typically what people do?

A: I do not offer bottom lashes.

Q: Alright, I'm in! How can I book an appointment with you?!

A: I currently have a wait list for new lash extension clients. If you would like to be added to the list, please use the button below to fill out the form.
